Tribute to the Noid

So I was looking through youtube for vintage commercials advertising locally owned companies and I rediscovered this guy.

That damn noid.

Back in the 1980s not only did Dominos have to deal with increasing competition from chains such as Pizza Hut, Little Caesars and Hungry Howies but they also had to deal with this little hellion trying to gunk up the works.

Instead of being hunted down and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law the Noid became a bit of a folk hero, landing TV Commercials

 Video Games

not to mention the merchandise T-shirts, actions figures etc.

Back in 1989 some guy Named Kenneth Lamar Noid went crazy and saw the commercials as a personal attack on him. Instead of writing a stern letter to corporate he decided to hold up a Dominos in Atlanta demanding $100,000 and a pizza, he was found not guilty, pleading insanity.

Nobody knows exactly what ever happened to the noid.

Most experts presume him dead.

  1. I had forgotten all about the Noid guy! Now that I see him years later…….he’s actually rather creepy……in a Cats Eye, Troll In the Wall, sucking a kids breath while they sleep kind of way.

  2. Hahaha all this time Ive somehow skipped over your Noid tribute.

  3. Wow I can’t believe I finally found a pic of the noid! My husband didn’t believe me when i told him such a character existed. Thanks for helping me prove him wrong!

  4. Didn’t you know? Adam West snaps his neck for trying to steal his pizza! Maybe it was the noid who should have avoided him…

  5. In the 1980’s in East Lansing, MI. area ,my husband was the man in the Noid costume driving the Noid-mobile as he worked for Dominos. Sadly, he died in Oct. 2004 of a heart attack.
